How to “Weekend of Coolness & Skulduggery” Yourself

And yes, I totally just used a phrase as a verb.

For Sarah and I, the Weekend of Coolness and Skulduggering was a simple weekend – we didn’t do much. We focussed on leaving lots of room in our schedule to allow for long discussions. LOTS came of our time together, despite our very loosely structured sked (‘sked’ is NCF for schedule, btw).

If you’ve got kiddos… you need to get rid of ‘em for a couple days. This coming January will be a little different for Sarah and I as we’ve still got a nursing babe, but the fewer kids you have to worry about, the better.

Get some kickin’ tunes. Here are some SWEET places to go for music, if you’re cool with online streaming. Click here. Or here. Or here.

Find a sweet hangout place. I’m thinking a coffee shop, indie restaurant, or awesome pub. Somewhere that gets you out of your regular scene.

Our Wall of Coolness and Skulduggery.

Dig in to ask yourself some HARD questions. We suggest a few general questions to get you going:

    1. At this time next year, what will we wish we’d done?
    2. What’s preventing us from doing/achieving these things?
    3. What parts of our lifestyle are we willing to sacrifice to do or achieve these things?
    4. What relationships inspire us?
    5. What relationships drag us down?
    6. What are we doing right now that we wish we could just STOP?

If you need more butt kicking, read and download THIS free NCF resource for a bunch of places to start your brain juices simmering.

Commandeer a kitchen wall or two. Tack up sheets of brown wrapping paper, or butcher paper, or heavy duty stuff like that. Arm yourselves with Sharpies, and start scribbling. Keep these posted during the year! Helps keep you on track. We know this from experience.

Tell us your story! We’d love to hear what happens as a result of your W of C&S. Questions? Requests? Hit us up on facebook!
